In the past ten years as an application developer, I have learned a few things that have made me a better professional, one of which is shamelessly borrowed from Douglas Adams’s book Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy: Don’t Panic. While this may seem self-evident, this can be easier said than done when a large assignment or server meltdown is staring you in the face. Since our group meetings tend to be smaller, I will also invite group members to speak who want to share some advice or lessons learned.
About the Presenter:
Trish Rempel founded Winnipeg Girl Geek Dinners in January 2010 after finding that the attendance at many technological events and user groups are predominately male, and if she wanted to interact more with like-minded women in the industry, perhaps others did too.
Trish is an application developer, mostly working with .Net, though she has dabbled with Flex and World of Warcraft. She has been in the IT industry since 2000.
